Cognitive Psychology (sort of)

Anyone who knows me, knows that I have had a real problem with the field of Human Psychology.

I won’t go into those details here, but suffice to say this.

“How can those in the profession of Medicine who work with the mind, claim to know anything about their specialty, when they know so little about the organ with which it resides?” Richard Brown

To this day, I can’t help myself from editing any psychology book I find within my reach!

The “Cognitive” approach to the mind is a great start, but even so, it misses the point. And so “justifiably,” it is still considered a “perspective,” in psychiatric journals.

Here’s a small question to get you started thinking in a slightly different way.

.Q.  “What single emotional response could serve as a mechanism for evolutionary, procreative, advancement of the species?”

Before I give you the answer, I would like to see if I can match your guesses.

Love?

Lust?

How about attraction?

Are those enough?

What if humanity rested its destiny on the proverbial deserted” island? Would our destiny be doomed by a plane load of Geologists on their way to Papua New Guinea?

So what is the answer?

.A.  “Curiosity.”
